Dr. Ali Zentner received her undergraduate medical degree from McMaster University and completed her Internal Medicine Residency with an extra year of Cardiology training at the University of Calgary. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
She is a clinical associate at University of British Columbia, Department of Internal Medicine. She has been in practice for over 20 years as a specialist in Obesity and Metabolic Medicine. Dr. Zentner is the founder and medical director of Revolution Medical Clinic and serves as its Medical Director. The clinic has been recognised as a centre of excellence by the European Association for the Study of Obesity. It is one of the largest multidisciplinary clinics in Canada run exclusively through the socialised health care system.
Her current outreach projects focus on Truth and Reconciliation within Indigenous Communities where she is partnering with several First Nations’ Communities in British Columbia establishing metabolic clinics that focus on trauma informed care.
Dr. Zentner is the founder and director of the Canadian Obesity Peer Support Program- an online and in person peer support educational platform for clinicians wanting to learn about obesity. (www.canadaobesitypeersupport.com) The program has trained over 600 clinicians in a peer support setting.
Ali is also the founder and a board chair of NO FAT SHAME (www.notfatshame.com) a non profit organization whose mission it is to end weight bias in medicine and everywhere.
