Description

Feeding kids shouldn’t feel like a daily battle — yet for many families, it does. As moms and dietitians, we know that picky eating can cause frustration, worry, and guilt at home at any age. As physicians, you also see how feeding challenges can affect growth, nutrition, and family stress in your practice.

In this interactive session, Jess and Nita — Registered Dietitians and co-founders of Happy Healthy Eaters — will unpack what’s normal versus problematic picky eating, the potential nutritional and psychosocial risks, and how to support families in navigating it confidently. This workshop will apply to those feeding toddlers to teens.

You’ll explore:

  • How to identify when picky eating crosses into problem feeding
  • The role of nutrient deficiencies (iron, zinc) in appetite and food acceptance
  • Common nutrient gaps in Canadian kids and affordable foods to bridge them
  • The hidden toll of picky eating on growth, family dynamics, and mental load
  • Practical frameworks for raising happy, confident eaters (including the Division of Responsibility)
