A leadership-focused, retreat-style conference
CWIM Leaders is a retreat-style conference held over two or three days in various locations across Canada. A more intimate experience in comparison to our large annual conference, CWIM Leaders dives deeper into topics through interactive workshops with a smaller group, all with a leadership focus. CWIM Leaders is built with the LEADS Framework in mind, exploring how to Lead Self, Engage Others, Achieve Results, Develop Coalitions and Transform Systems. There is also time intentionally set aside for recharging and connecting with fellow physicians.
CWIM Leaders first launched in 2021 with two virtual offerings. We later developed CWIM Leaders Two, which was offered to sold out audiences in the fall of 2023 (Kelowna, British Columbia), spring of 2024 (Kelowna, British Columbia) and fall of 2024 (Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario).
In 2025 we developed CWIM Leaders Three: The Power of You, focusing on exploring your identity as an individual, doctor, team member, and leader. This event took place in person in Kananaskis, Alberta in January and St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador in September.
Now, we bring you the our fourth iteration of CWIM Leaders which this time focuses on exploring the teams we lead.
Whether you're in a formal leadership role, aspiring for a leadership position, or simply looking for ways to improve your work and home life, CWIM Leaders is for you. Our goal is to add to your leadership and life toolkit and to build a community of women to share successes & struggles with.

Who is this event for?
This event is for women+ physicians with an interest in leadership skills development. Attendees must be licensed (or retired) women+ physicians, or registered medical students, residents or fellows at an accredited medical school.
Is this event accredited?
Our past CWIM Leaders events have all been accredited by RCPSC and the CFPC. Please check back for updates regarding CWIM Leaders 2026.
What is a retreat-style conference?
CWIM Leaders is a conference with time set aside for making the most of your time away. In addition to workshop content, we have some fun and relaxing activities & extras planned. We've intentionally designed the schedule with plenty of opportunity for connecting with colleagues, optional group activities and dedicated free time to recharge.
Do I have to be a physician to register?
Yes. This event is for physicians only. Registered medical students & residents may also attend.
Can I register early as a paid partner of the Canadian Women in Medicine Organization?
Yes. CWIM Partners will have exclusive early access to registration until Tuesday, April 14 at noon ET. CWIM Partners also receive discounted registration!
I am a CWIM Partner. How do I register?
If your CWIM partnership is active, the main registration page will recognize your email address. Please ensure you are using the same email address as your CWIM partnership registration. If your email is not recognized, please send an email to hello@cwimorg.com to check your partner status and confirm the correct email address.
I just renewed my CWIM Partnership today or newly joined. Will I have access to early registration?
Please ensure you purchase a partnership or renew PRIOR to registration opening. If you join after registration begins, please allow up 1-2 business days for your email address to be recognized.
Can I register if I am not Canadian?
Yes. During registration, please select 'other' under Provincial College Affiliation and add your local country's physician registration number. If you do not have a verifiable physician credential, please email us at hello@cwimgather.com.
What if I can no longer attend and need to cancel?

I registered virtually but now I want to come in person - can I switch?
If space permits, you may switch your registration from virtual to in-person. A link to modify your registration will be found within your registration confirmation email. If you require assistance, you may contact us at hello@cwimgather.com.
Do I need any special technical skills to attend virtually?
No! The event will be held on CrowdComms (the same platform used for CWIM Conference in 2023, 2024 & 2025). CrowdComms is a user-friendly platform, and no technical skills are required. We do advise ensuring a high-speed internet connection to ensure the stream is clear.
Can we get together with friends and watch as a group?
Yes, but please keep in mind that everyone present and viewing MUST be independently registered for the event. In order to claim CME credits, claim your expenses and receive a welcome box, you must be registered for CWIM Leaders 2026. If unregistered persons are found to be viewing the event, they and their friends will be removed from the event, without reimbursement.
How do I book hotel accommodations for this event?
We have a special discounted group rate available for CWIM Leaders 2026 attendees The Westin Harbour Castle. You can learn more about the hotel here. After you register, you will receive a booking link in your registration confirmation email to make your reservation. Please note, rooms are only for in-person CWIM Leaders 2026 attendees. Reservations made that are not recognized in-person attendees will be cancelled.
Can I bring my partner? Can I bring my children?
Partners and/or children are welcome to accompany you on your trip, but all conference meeting spaces and conference-provided meals are for registered attendees only.
