The Nanny Company is a locally owned and operated Winnipeg childcare agency with over 10 years of experience supporting families and working professionals through part-time, full-time, and casual nanny placements, as well as childcare for major events and conferences. For CWIM attendees, we are pleased to offer private, in-accommodation childcare, allowing your child to remain in a comfortable, familiar environment while you fully participate in conference programming. Our nannies provide a warm and engaging experience - offering age-appropriate play, simple crafts, story time, imaginative activities, and gentle routines to keep children happy, stimulated, and well cared for. Whether staying in the room or enjoying short walks in the nearby area, our goal is to ensure your child feels safe, supported, and truly cared for while in our care.

Families begin by completing our secure registration and selecting CWIM Casual Service. From there, you can request the days and times you need through your personal dashboard, and we’ll match you with a nanny and confirm all details directly.

What to Expect

• Complete our application form and select Casual Services > Non-Member.  Please enter your home address in the application form; you’ll be prompted for the service location address upon booking.
   
• Once approved, you’ll receive access to your online family dashboard to submit care requests for conference dates; please choose the CWIM Conference Services under Casual Shift Type.
   
• We will match you with an available nanny and you’ll be able to view their profile in your dashboard.
   
• Care takes place in your hotel room or accommodation. Nannies can also take children on short walking-distance outings (The Forks offers many) or meet you at the conference for nursing or comfort breaks, if preferred. A Fun Bag of toys and crafts can be requested for an additional fee.
   
• All childcare hours will be billed after the conference through The Nanny Company.

How do I book childcare?

Visit thenannycompany.ca, choose Apply > As a Family and complete the application form, selecting CWIM Conference Services. Once approved, your dashboard will allow you to request childcare for any dates/times.

Who are the nannies?

All our nannies are thoroughly vetted, interviewed, and legally employed by The Nanny Company. They are experienced with children of all ages, reference-checked with excellent feedback, and hold current CPR/First Aid certification. Additionally, they have successfully cleared Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Checks.

Upon confirmation, the assigned nanny’s profile will be shared with you via your dashboard. 

Can we have the same nanny for the whole conference?

Whenever possible, yes. With sufficient notice, we do our best to schedule the same nanny for all of your requested bookings. Submitting all your booking requests at the same time will provide a better opportunity for us to ensure the Nanny is available for all requested days/times. 

Where does childcare take place?

All care is one-on-one in your hotel or accommodation. Nannies can also take children on nearby outings or meet you at the conference venue as needed, with permission. 

What ages do you care for?

We provide care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children. When submitting your booking, we’ll be sure to provide you with a nanny that has experience and comfort with your age and number of children. 

What are the rates?

There is a $10.00 booking fee per request. Our rate for up to 4 children in 1 family is $40.00/hour up to an 8 hour booking and $60.00/hour for all hours after 8. Care for multiple families in one location will have a custom hourly rate based on ages and number of children and nannies required. 

A Fun Bag can also be requested for shifts with age appropriate activities, books, games and crafts for an additional $25.00/booking.

All hours are invoiced after the event and payable by e-transfer or credit card on request. 

Is there a minimum booking?

Yes — we require a 3-hour minimum per session.
