About: CWIM Leaders Three - January 2025

CWIM Leaders is a retreat-style course held over three days in various locations across Canada. A more intimate experience in comparison to our large annual conference, CWIM Leaders dives deeper into topics through interactive workshops with a smaller group, all with a leadership focus. CWIM Leaders courses are built with the LEADS Framework in mind, exploring how to Lead Self, Engage Others, Achieve Results, Develop Coalitions and Transform Systems. There is also time intentionally set aside for recharging and connecting with fellow physicians.

After having over five hundred women complete CWIM Leaders One virtually in 2021 and 2022, and selling out CWIM Leaders Two twice (in the fall of 2023 and spring of 2024) in beautiful Kelowna, BC, we saw that there is still a demand for more leadership content.

We are excited to present CWIM Leaders Three: The Power of You, focusing on exploring your identity as an individual, doctor, team member, and leader. The course begins with an examination of your personality style and how it influences your interactions with colleagues (both at work and home). You will discover how your past experiences have shaped your identity and learn how to leverage your true self when leading or collaborating within a team. Lastly, you will progress towards crafting a personal brand and story that opens doors by effectively communicating your values and principles to others.

Whether you're in a formal leadership role, aspiring for a leadership position, or simply looking for ways to improve your work and home life, the CWIM Leaders course is for you. Our goal is to add to your leadership and life toolkit and to build a community of women to share successes & struggles with.

Overall Course Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

1. Identify your personal mission, values and goals with respect to your medical career

2. Identify different personality and work styles and hone in on your own personal leadership style: what is it and how can I use it effectively?

3. Build strategies for working collaboratively in teams to foster systems change

4. Identify new opportunities for building networks and expanding subject-matter expertise

5. Build resilience strategies to enhance well-being for individual physicians and teams

Who is this event for?

This event is for women+ physicians with an interest in leadership skills development. Registration is restricted to licensed (or retired) women+ physicians. Registered medical students, residents & fellows of an accredited medical school can also attend.

Do I need to have attended CWIM Leaders One and CWIM Leaders Two to attend this event?

No. The events do not build on one another - they can be taken in any order.

Is this event accredited?

Do I have to be a physician to register?

Yes. This event is for physicians only.

Is there a special rate for paid partners of the Canadian Women in Medicine Organization?

Yes. CWIM Partners received a discounted rate of $1645+ tax until October 31, 2024.

I am a CWIM Partner. How do I register?

If your CWIM partnership is active, the main registration page will recognize your email address. Please ensure you are using the same email address as your CWIM partnership registration. If your email is not recognized, please send an email to hello@cwimorg.com to check your partner status and confirm the correct email address.

Can I register if I am not Canadian?

Yes. During registration, please select 'other' under Provincial College Affiliation and add your local country's physician registration number. If you do not have a verifiable physician credential, please email us at hello@cwimgather.com.
